According to a recent estimate, more than 15.5 million children in the United States have tested positive with Covid-19 since the epidemic began in early 2020.

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the Children’s Hospital Association, approximately 66,000 of these cases have been added in the last four weeks, according to Xinhua news agency.

In the week ending March 23, almost 13,000 kid Covid-19 instances were documented, according to the study.

According to the research, weekly reported kid cases in the United States have plateaued at around 30,000 instances over the last six months.

According to the report, reported instances are likely a “significant undercount” of Covid-19 cases among youngsters.

According to the paper, additional age-specific data is needed to determine the severity of sickness caused by novel variations as well as possible long-term repercussions.

The AAP stated that while there are direct repercussions of the epidemic on children’s health, it is more vital to identify and treat the long-term implications on the physical, mental, and social well-being of this generation of children and youth.

The United States remains the worst-affected country by the Covid pandemic, with the largest number of cases and fatalities.

The country’s caseload and death toll was at 106,120,651 and 1,153,972, respectively, as of Wednesday morning.
