A shooting incident at a hookah lounge in Seattle, USA, resulted in 3 fatalities and left 6 others injured, according to local police.

Responding to reports of the shooting just before 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, officers arrived at the Rainier Hookah Lounge, as confirmed by the Seattle Police Department.

During a news conference on Sunday evening, Seattle Police Chief Adrian Diaz stated that two men and one woman were shot. Unfortunately, the two men, aged 22 and 32, lost their lives due to their injuries at the scene.

A 30-year-old woman who sustained serious injuries was taken to a hospital, but she also passed away later that day.

The injured individuals were transported to medical facilities as well. As of Sunday evening, four men and one woman were in stable condition, while a 23-year-old man remained in critical condition, as reported by Seattle Fire Chief Harold Scoggins during the news conference.

The investigation into the incident is being led by the Department’s homicide unit. The motives behind the shooting and the number of suspects involved have not been clarified yet.

Police confirmed the retrieval of at least five firearms.

Chief Diaz noted, “It appeared they might have been trying to shut down the place, as well. But when it comes to the community, I believe it’s an isolated incident.”

Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell voiced concerns, highlighting that despite the Seattle police’s efforts in recovering firearms — 869 guns by July — illegal weapons still circulate, potentially leading to more tragic events like the one that transpired.
