A mother from South Florida has been arrested after attempting to hire a hit man from a parody website to have her 3-year-old son killed, according to authorities.
The 18-year-old woman, Jazmin Paez, used a fake name to fill out a web form on “rentahitman.com,” where she provided her son’s name, age, and even uploaded a photo of him. She also gave an address and selected a date for the planned killing, as stated in her arrest report.
The website’s owner, Bob Innes, reported the incident to the Miami-Dade Police Department, leading to a detective texting Paez, pretending to be the hired hit man. Paez allegedly agreed to pay $3,000 to have her son killed.
Paez was arrested and confessed that she had plotted the murder to win back her ex-boyfriend, who had broken up with her because she had a child. According to her statement to the police, the ex-boyfriend had advised her to get rid of her son.
As a result of her actions, a judge ordered Paez to stay away from her son, and she was released on a $15,000 bond from the county’s Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
Paez has been charged with soliciting murder in the first degree and unlawful use of a communication device. The incident was first reported by NBC Miami.
