According to the country’s Ministry of the Interior, more than 158 tonnes of drugs were seized in France in 2022, setting a new record.

According to the Xinhua news agency, authorities seized a record 128.6 tons of cannabis, 15% more than in 2021.

According to the Ministry, 55% of the 27.7 tons of cocaine seized in the country last year came from the French West Indies and French Guiana, which serve as storage and transit points for cocaine produced in South America.

1.4 tons of heroin were also seized by authorities.

The list also includes 273 kg of amphetamine and methamphetamine, as well as 1,543,421 ecstasy/MDMA tablets.

According to the Ministry, up to 15,160 dismantling operations will be carried out in 2022, with 37,510 drug traffickers charged.
